摘 要:
Medicinal plants have been used in China for thousands of years. Many natural products from plants show great pharmacological activities and are major sources for the discovery of new drugs nowadays. However, the supplies of some plant metabolites can’t satisfy the requirements of markets. In our lab, we focuses on solving the supply problem for high-value natural products through synthetic biology. Synthetic biology will use engineering principles to design and assemble the biosynthetic pathways in microorganisms to produce medicinal natural products, precursors, even new compounds. Firstly the genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic datasets will be constructed to dig up the genes involved in natural product biosynthesis. After isolating all the genes, the biosynthetic pathways would be reconstructed in an engineered microbial strain. And then genetically modification would be done in the strain based on the analysis results. Currently, we are investigating the genes involved in the biosynthesis of flavonoids and terpenoids in several Chinese medicinal plant species and metabolically engineering the production of scutellarin, phloretin, diosgenin and so on in yeast cells. The engineered yeast strains can serve as the basis for creating an alternative way for producing natural products in place of extractions from plant sources.
个人简介:
江会锋博士现任中科院天津工业生物技术研究所研究员,中科院系统微生物工程重点实验室副主任,中科院天津工业生物所学位委员会主席。曾获中国科学院“百人计划”,天津市“千人计划(青年项目)”,天津市杰出青年基金,国家自然科学基金优秀青年基金等人才项目资助。主要研究方向是代谢合成生物学,一方面利用合成生物学原理与技术,解析自然界植物复杂生物代谢途径,研究生物合成的基本规律与生物催化的反应机理,创建植物源天然产物微生物细胞工厂,为革新植物天然产物制造模式奠定基础;另一方面利用化学反应原理与新酶设计技术,创建生物代谢新反应、新催化剂、新途径,研究从一碳到多碳有机物的生物合成原理,为创建生物全合成技术体系奠定基础。
