主要从事生物化工领域的教学和研究工作。发表论文210篇,其中SCI收录 130篇,他引2500余次,授权发明专利12项。培养研究生逾50名,其中全国优秀百篇博士论文1人。获得全国高等学校优秀骨干教师奖(2002),国务院政府特殊津贴(2007),全国优秀博士论文指导教师(2008),宝钢全国优秀教师奖特等奖提名奖(2016),2012年入选教育部长江学者特聘教授。
